Elevating DOL as a leader and innovator in information technology

Cameron led projects in DOL’s Office of the Chief Information Officer as a communications consultant, providing day-to-day support and leading enterprise-level communications, marketing, branding, and change management campaigns. In this role, he supported Agency-wide technology roll-outs, developed management and governance processes, and helped shepherd large-scale organizational change through strategic communications and marketing.

Most notably, Cameron managed logistics, VIP/guest services, and 50+ staffers for DOL Tech Day 2019, DOL’s marquee, award-wining technology innovation exhibition. This event was hosted in partnership with the White House and 20+ government agencies and gathered 3,000+ government leaders. The event received coverage by Politico, Fedscoop, Meritalk and other notable industry publications. Cameron helped produce promotional media, managed engagement with executive stakeholders and government luminaries, and facilitated administrative and planning activities.

Providing Americans access to government benefits with the Benefits.gov program

Benefits.gov is the U.S. government’s official site for government benefits. Started by the Bush Administration, Benefits.gov provides Americans direct access to over 1,300+ state and federal benefits, grants, scholarships and more. Working cross-functionally in an Agile product management environment, Cameron helped improve site features and user experience, managed several digital communications channels, wrote editorial content for the Compass eNewsletter, and developed, from concept to production, digital content to spread awareness and engaged with its, then, 9M audience base. Most notably, Cameron produced a digital video series titled “The Benefits.gov User Series” that helped users better find the benefits that are relevant to them.
